This issue of the New Heeley Voice is a BUMPER edition with 24 pages of local news, issues, events and jobs.
The front page features the upcoming Heeley Festival – last years event was one of the best ever so if you came then, please come along again and help make this years even better! If you’ve not been before then have a look at the magazine to see what its all about. There is a lot planned for the day – 2 stages of live music, dance performance, free activities for Kids, stalls and farmers market and for the first time, a Vintage Car Display.
The fun starts at 12 noon so come and join in with the Olympic themed opening procession to help get the Festival off to a good start.
This issue also highlights a couple of exciting developments on Heeley Bottom – ‘In a Nutshell’ has new owners (and will be having a refurb) and the ‘Sheffield Antiques Quarter’ proposals are quickly becoming reality.
Some of the other good news includes – local group Hazelhurst CSA, are about to launch a veg box scheme – delicious produce grown in the area by local people – and in April, local learners received recognition at the Sheffield ‘Adult Learners of the Year’ Awards for their achievements on courses that are part of the adult community learning programme in Heeley and Abbeydale.
There is a double page update on the work taking place on Heeley Millennium Park plus lots of info about summer activities for young people happening across the area.
The next Heeley Voice will be out early September so please get in touch if you have anything to include. If you are not in our delivery area but would like to receive a hard copy of the magazine, email your postal address to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you one.
Hope to see you at the Festival on the 23rd!
