A group of Sheffield cricketers are raising money for St Luke’s Hospice in memory of Tom Collins, the former detached youth team manager at Heeley Development Trust. Tom lost his battle with cancer in June last year and family, friends and teammates from De La Salle Cricket Club are organising a sponsored walk to thank the hospice for the care that they gave him.

The Crab Walk (after Toms unique batting style) will stretch between cricket clubs that Tom played for, starting at Millhouses, heading out Hathersage and finishing back at Beauchief pavilion. It will be approximately 18 miles and in true Tom Collins style the cricket team will be doing it in full whites!

If you would like to join in on the walk (or part of it) then it is taking place on Saturday 10 April at 9am. If you are unable to participate but would like to show your support then you can sponsor the event at www.justgiving.com/thecrabwalk . The group is aiming to raise £1000.00 so any help would be greatly appreciated. For more info, contact Tom’s son at tombarney229@hotmail.com  or on 0773 5592199
