Forty people took up the challenge of getting online at the Heeley Online Suite on Thirlwell Road in January. It appears that a number of you have made New Year’s resolutions to learn how to use computers – but I know that there are many more of you who have still not had a go.
So come on down – we won’t bite! We are really friendly and make everyone feel at home.
Most people when they finally come to see us wonder why they didn’t come earlier.
Some people come because they are looking for work, either to job search, write CVs or to develop the skills demanded in over 70% of jobs today. Others want to keep up with their kids and make sure they are safe online at home.
Many people want to research their interests, like tracing their family tree or stamp collecting, beat the credit crunch by raising cash on Ebay, or simply want to keep in touch with their family.
The possibilities are endless – so if you want to do any of these things, and many others, we can show you how.
“I’m too old” is no excuse – the latest research shows that computing keeps your brain active and can slow the onset of Alzheimer’s! So that’s why:
- 50% of our users are 55 and over
- Residents from Sheffield Homes Sheltered Housing ‘Your Community Your Choice’ voted to put their money into computing
SO WHY NOT GIVE IT A TRY!
