Friends of Newfield is a group that any parents, carers, grandparents or well wishers of children at Newfield can join. It was started last autumn by a group of parents who felt that they wanted to be more involved in the life of the school, to support their children and the school and to help Newfield become more a part of the local community.
It is free to join and aims to put people in touch so that they can contribute to, and take part in, the things that interest and matter to them.
Examples of ongoing and future projects that Friends of Newfield are involved in include;-
Parent focus groups that help to give the school views from home and the community
Social events e.g. quiz nights, tournaments, car boot sales
Working with the school to help to provide enrichment activities for pupils
Strengthening relationships with the local primary schools
Anyone who is interested in joining, please look out for further details in school newsletters and at Parents and Carers Evenings and other school events. And if you haven’t done so already, why not come to one of the termly Parents’ Forum evenings, where you can meet other parents, hear the Head Teacher give a Newfield Update and take part, if you want, in the open Question and Answer session? You will be made very welcome!
