Update from the South Community Assembly

The South Community Assembly has approved the following range of projects helping to deliver some of the local priorities highlighted in the Community Plan.

From its ‘You Choose’ funding (for projects applying for £250 and under) the following two project were successful:-

•  Anns Grove Primary PTA  £250
• Heeley Playscheme  £250

Also on Thursday 21st January the South Assembly held an event where local people could vote as to which projects should be allocated funding (projects applying over £250 to £2000).  The following projects were successful:-

•  Heeley Advice Service  £1611.13
• Cambridge Court Over 60’s Agewell group  £643
• Heeley Asian Women’s Group  £800
• Heeley Entertainment and Activities Team  £2000
• Heeley City Farm  £2000
• Heeley Parish Toddler Group  £1355.26      

At its meeting on the 7th January 2010 the Assembly agreed to support two projects in the Heeley area from their Climate Change fund they were:

• Heeley Development Trust  £10,135
• South Yorkshire Energy Centre  £13,421
