What is a Roadshow?
A Roadshow is a public event where the Community Assembly invites along different services and organisations to provide the public with information about what they provide in your neighbourhood.
On a regular basis services such as South Yorkshire Police, Street Force, South Yorkshire Fire Service, NHS Sheffield, 50 plus, Activity Sheffield and Sheffield Homes will attend. We also invite along voluntary organisations that work
locally in your area.
We also have 2 major pieces of consultation taking place at the next Roadshow on the 10th June.
• Thriving District and Local Centres – Attractive, successful centres are one of the reasons why people
choose to live or work in an area and we want every community to have an attractive and thriving centre – a place where you can live, work, shop, meet and relax. We want to know what you think is important about
centres such as Abbeydale and Nether Edge and what improvements are most needed.
• The Sheffield Development Framework or ‘SDF’ is the Plan that says how the city should develop in the future. The ‘Proposals Map’ shows how these proposals will affect different areas. To find out more visit www.sheffield.gov.uk/sdfconsult – you will find information on where to see the document and map, how to share your views and details of SDF events. You can also email sdf@sheffield.gov.uk or call the SDF hotline
(0114) 2053075.
How can I get there?
The venue is just off Abbeydale Road and is on the corner of Empire Road and Machon Bank. Watch out for the Abbeydale Picture House and Empire Road is on the other side of the road close to the Picture House.
Bus routes: 75, 76, 98, 97
You can contact the South Community Assembly Team on 0114 205 3050 and we can provide you with further information as well as dates and times when we will be running future Roadshows.
