Members of a local green group, the Green Triangle, are distributing free sunflower seedlings in June to those living in the ‘Triangle’ streets: Albert, Kent and Shirebrook Roads. Last year, Google Street View happened to catch a picture of sunflowers growing in a front yard on Albert Road – don’t they look great! Imagine scenes like this all along the three streets.
For beginner gardeners, each seedling will be delivered with growing instructions. If you’d like to join in, telephone Izzy: 255 7855, or email Lisa: lisabellamy@lycos.com

Yes, it was a bit breezy, but at least it didn’t rain.
Back to nice sunflower-growing weather now. Lots of different varieties of sunflowers have been planted already along Albert, Shirebrook and Kent Roads, but there’s still some left so it’s not too late to join in.
