If this looks like your idea of fun, then the Green Triangle are holding their annual Harvest Festival this Sunday, 3rd October. The Green Triangle are an informal group of people from Albert, Shirebrook and Kent Roads in Heeley/ Meersbrook. The group look for ways to do something locally about climate change (events, projects, sharing resources etc.).
This will be the fourth Green Triangle harvest event and will take place at Meersbrook Bowling & Social Club on Shirebrook Road. Activities will begin at 3.00pm with apple bobbing and other kids’ games. An apple press will be in action producing fresh apple juice from local apples (bring any spare ones you have – it doesn’t matter if they’re windfalls and a bit bruised). There will also be a ‘Vegetable Sculpture’ competition, a raffle of local produce, and ‘The Famous Green Triangle Harvest Quiz’.
Supper will begin about 6.00pm and this year will also include a BBQ. Bring a food contribution yourself and get to try some of everyone else’s fare too. Drinks will be available to buy from the Club bar.
Everyone welcome.
