Friends of Newfield is a group that parents, carers, grandparents or well wishers of children at Newfield can join. It was started last year by a group of parents who felt that they wanted to be more involved in the life of the school, to support their children and the school and to help Newfield become more a part of the local community.
Last term was a busy time with Friends of Newfield running stalls at Heeley Festival and Meersbrook Bank summer fair, organising volunteering opportunities for Newfield pupils at the Heeley Festival, and having our first Annual General Meeting where a committee was elected and we adopted the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations constitution.
This year, with more and more parents and teachers showing enthusiasm and wanting to get involved, we hope to go from strength to strength;- welcoming new parents and carers, helping with fundraising and helping to make Newfield School’s great facilities more accessible to the local community.
Anyone who is interested in joining, please look out for further details in school newsletters, at Parents Evenings and other school events. You will be made very welcome!
