Dear Resident,
This week sees the first of the annual weeks of action. I am pleased to report that as always our partner agencies have given excellent support and there are a number of activities planned to improve the quality of life for residents of Heeley and Meersbrook.
Streetforce have a list of environmental improvements including weed removal, graffiti removal and a general clean up of the area. A number of broken streetlights will be fixed and road signs replaced and the tatty handrails on Denmark Rd will be repainted. We will be running a crime prevention Operation at Meersbrook Allotments and offering Shed Alarms to tenants. The fire service will also be out in force offering home fire safety assessments to local residents. Finally Sheffield Homes staff will be undertaking significant estate improvements in the area.
In terms of Police activity we have a number of initiatives planned. Today sees the central ANPR ( Automatic number plate reader) team from our road crime unit deployed in the area. We will be undertaking test purchase operations targeting under-age drinking. We will also be using the speed camera to enforce speed limits in areas identified by local residents. Wednesday will see mounted officers on patrol around Heeley to tackle antisocial behaviour. My staff will also be out on high visibilty patrols in the Heeley Green and Heeley City Farm areas to prevent and tackle ASB.
Please remember if you want to keep up to date on a daily basis with what is happening follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
