If it’s June, It must be ……Heeley Festival!

The much loved annual Heeley Festival is set to take place on Heeley Millennium Park on Saturday 18^th June, from 12noon to 5pm.

Performers and festival goers will open proceedings with a parade, starting at the Heeley Institute at 12noon and winding through the Park to the main stage for the first performance of the day.

The Festival is organised by H.E.A.T.; a partnership between Heeley Development Trust, Heeley City Farm, Heeley Parish Church and Ann’s Grove Primary School.

There’ll be a host of entertainment on offer on the main stage, all overseen by Big Al’s Funhouse. Live music performances from Twins, The Voxettes, Pallav Roy and Right Turners Beware, plus dancing from the Boomshanka Belly Dancers and Michelle Farrar’s Stepping Out dance troupe. Local favourites Phoenix Falconry will be wowing the crowds with their amazing birds of prey and flying demonstrations.

Across the Millennium Park there’ll be lots more activities to keep the whole family entertained, from drumming workshops with Bongo Bert, to face painting and glitter body art, to the BMX obstacle course with Recycle Bikes, Archery and the Activity Sheffield Climbing Tower. There’ll be plenty of rides, plus an inflatable slide and go-karts.

Sheffield’s foodies, crafty folk and community organisations will be out in force, selling their wares and championing their causes. In total there’ll be more than 80 stalls across the Park.

Ann’s Grove Primary School will be running a car boot on the school car park, while Heeley Parish Church will hold their ever-popular Heeley History Group display – pop along to enjoy a cream tea and find out more about Heeley’s fascinating history. Heeley City Farm will be hosting more live music, plus a bouncy castle and performances from BenZ magician. Music will continue until 8pm at the Farm.

Heeley Millennium Park is Sheffield’s largest community owned and managed park, held in trust for local people by Heeley Development Trust for the next 100 years. June is a wonderful time in the Park, with the wildflower meadow in full bloom and bursting with colour.
