On 4th September, ReCycle Bikes hosted the Magic Lantern Film Club [http://magiclanternfilmclub.wordpress.com/] for a special ‘End of Summer Soiree’ outdoor film screening. Our base at Ash Tree Yard was transformed into a secret outdoor cinema with refreshments provided by Grow Sheffield’s Abundance project (freshly hand-pressed local apple and pear juice), Caffe Carino (good coffee, cool Piaggio Ape) and popcorn from Jenny’s industrial sized machine.

As the sun was going down Ash Tree Yard was also host to the inaugural Shopping Bike Yard Racing World Championships, and 4 heats, 2 semis, and 1 final later, we crowned Recycle Bikes own Ash as champion (with another of our workers, Karlos, a close second – not bad to say he’s only just got the pot off his left foot after a recent scooter accident). A big thanks to all contenders who made the event so great to watch.
The weather remained fine and the whole evening was a success. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and to everyone who attended and made it such a cool event. We’re already talking about next year…
