Nearly 100 people packed Newfield Green Tenants Hall on Saturday 3rd March to meet neighbours and share international food cooked by local families. This annual event celebrates the contribution asylum seekers make to the area and is a chance to make contacts and friends.

Apart from enjoying the delicious lunch, we played a people hunting game with prizes and made a colourful friendship banner with the help of an artist.

The folk  who planned this successful “do” with the support from City of Sanctuary, came from local churches, the tenants’ association, the police, Gleadless Valley Labour Party and other groups. Many thanks to everyone who contributed.
