Tillotson Tenants & Residents Association (TARA) would like to return a big thank you to Anns Grove pupils for all their letters.  The children were thanking the TARA for donating £500 to help fund the school’s annual purchase of a story book for each child at Christmas.  These are some of their comments about the books:

Ginger the Stray Kitten: It was so good I read it until I fell asleep.

Wild Rescue Earthquake Escape: I read it throughout the holidays and in Poland I read it too!

Sam the Stolen Puppy: The book was special because I like animals… I give it ten out of ten.

The £500 came from ‘levy money’ – 10p per week is taken from council rents and awarded to TARAs to fund community projects.  The idea to give money for books was a new one, but other TARA funded projects have included community parties, park benches and dog bins.  Anyone can join a TARA, even if they’re not a council tenant.  So if you have an idea for a project, or just want to be more involved in your local community,  Write to Tillotson TARA c/o Warden’s Office, 120 Cambridge Road, Heeley S8 9SN, or phone Alison Bodill (Sheffield Homes) on 0114 205 3333 for information about Tillotson and other local TARAs.
