We welcome this opportunity to thank readers of the New Heeley Voice for their kind donations of good quality furniture and household items, voluntary time, and money over the past year.

Our Queens Road Furniture Store recycling is now the only service of this kind in Sheffield offering FREE help to vulnerable families and individuals referred to us by a city-wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies. Whatever hardship our clients are experiencing, the majority have no means of purchasing items necessary to furnish new homes. Each year we help over 3500 people including single-parents, the elderly or disabled, ex-offenders trying to go straight, asylum seekers, and many others who through no fault of their own find themselves in crisis.  Approximately 73,000 people have benefitted from our help since we opened in 1987.

Addressing the needs of those we help is only made possible by training our staff and volunteers – we run two transit vans with driving teams who collect donated items each morning, then deliver them to clients in the afternoon. The project cost £164,000 last year.  We work in partnership with Sheffield City Council who provide us with a grant each year to cover approximately 35% of our running costs.

If any readers would like to know more about this vital work, or volunteer to help in the store, an information pack can be requested from Ralph on: 0114 270 3994 or email:
