Sheffield City Council and Veolia Environmental Services are going ‘Compost Crazy’ to celebrate Compost Awareness Week – a national week aimed at encouraging people to compost their garden and food waste at home.

Veolia’s composting experts will be holding a series of events ‘Compost Surgeries’ and a special one day compost bin sale at Ann’s Grove Primary School

After the success of last year’s sale, Sheffield City Council and Veolia are delighted to announce this year’s compost bin sale in partnership with local charity, Heeley City Farm on Saturday 12th May.

Compost bins are available to Sheffield residents for the bargain price of just £13 (RRP £39) and water butts (including a starter kit) will also be available at a knock-down price of £22 (RRP £69).  45 litre bags of locally produced compost will be on offer at £3 or 4 bags for £10.

Heeley City Farm receives a contribution from every bin, butt or bag sold to help them carry on their work within the Sheffield community.

The one day sale will be held in the car park at Anns Grove Primary School, Anns Road between 10am – 4pm.  The sale items will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
