Clients at St Wilfrid’s Centre for the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield recently took on a job from Westfield Health, after their Chairman Graham Moore had made a visit to the Centre. Graham was so impressed by the work that is being done by the charity that he commissioned a banner for the British Blind Sport Tenpin Bowling Championship, sponsored by Westfield Health. Kevin Bradley, Director of St Wilfrid’s said:
‘Graham said that he had never seen anything like the work being done by our clients and immediately sent in an order for a 40 ft long banner.’ Kevin added ‘At first the clients thought that the job was beyond them but with expert guidance from Deputy Director Paul Russell they managed to pull it off.’
The Skills Workshop at the Centre is equipped with state of the art equipment for clients to improve their employable skills. Customers of the Centre include the local Sheffield football clubs, United and Wednesday and Chesterfield FC. All the money raised from the sale of products is put back directly to improve the service offered for vulnerable people.
Anyone wishing to support the charity or order signs or banners should contact the Centre on 0114 2555720. http://www.stwilfridscentre.org/
