The Friends of Bishops House are holding their Annual General Meeting on Friday (8th June) and are looking to recruit new members to demonstrate public support for the preservation of Bishops House and to help raise its profile within the local community.

The group took over the management of the public opening times of the house in April 2011 and visitor numbers in recent months have significantly grown to nearly double those of previous years.

They are now taking the first steps to becoming a charitable trust and are applying for grants to help broaden the pursuit of their key aims: to maintain and develop public access to the house, to raise awareness of Bishops House and its place in the broader context of Sheffield history and to protect and conserve the building for future generations to enjoy.

The AGM starts at 7.30pm (at Bishops House) and everyone is welcome, if you would like to get involved –  it’s free to join: http://bishopshouse.org.uk/index.php/contact-friends-of-bishops-house/become-a-member
