Chesterfield Road shops just got more interesting with the addition of a book shop – one with added extras.

The Littlest Bookshop opened on 1st August and sells not only books but also war game figures and related paraphernalia – painted figures, unpainted box sets, paints and Warhammer gamers’ White Dwarf magazine. Prices for painted figures range from a pocket-money sized single figure for £1.00, up to collector priced £60.00 figures. The ‘dungerdon’ pictured costs £30.00.

War-gamers are welcome to pop into the shop for advice or a chat – no purchase required.

The Littlest Bookshop owner, Lee Rigby, first began selling books and war figures at markets across the region. Finding this to be successful, he’s now decided to open a shop. There’s a wide selection of books, both new (£2.00 each), and ‘pre-loved’ (2 for £1.00). The range also includes some antiquarian and collectable books. If you’re looking for a title that is not in stock – new or old/ fiction or non-fiction – Lee is happy to act as a book-finder on your behalf.

Lee is keen to encourage reading – both introducing young gamers to fiction titles in line with their interests, and keeping established readers supplied with new titles. Lee hopes to set up a Monday night book group, or war-gaming group, so if you’d be interested to join either, pop into the shop and introduce yourself. The Littlest Bookshop is open 10.00am – 7.00pm Tuesday – Friday, and 9.30am – 7.00pm Saturday.
