Local health food shop, the Incredible Nutshell, on Chesterfield Road re-opened its doors this summer looking lighter, brighter, and fully stocked. Shoppers have made fabulous comments about the new look: now a mixture of modern clean lines and random old objects collected by the new proprietors to create a pleasant and interesting place to shop.
The range of stock grows weekly as customers’ requests are met; you can now find exciting new products like virgin coconut oil, sumac and pink Himalayan salt alongside familiar health food favourites. Fresh bread arrives daily from Cat Lane Bakery with scones, teacakes, foccacia, and sweet bits. New owners, Amanda and Lynn are always happy to take orders.
There’s a good range of takeaway food that can be heated up, with a table and chairs outside if you want to get a drink or do lunch. Teas are a big hit with 52 (and counting) to choose from including brands such as Pukka, Yogi, Clipper and Dr Stuarts helping you relax, liven up, detox or slim! Just arrived is Qi Chin Mee green tea.
You can also refill Ecover bottles, clean floors with Attitude, wash clothes with BioD and scrub yourself down with a lovely array of soaps by Tanjero. Tanjero is one of several locally produced items on sale. Other local products include the onion bahjis cooked by a Pakistani women’s group at St Mary’s community centre, and free range eggs. Sheffield produce is still expanding: look out for local honey arriving soon.
In a Nutshell had been part of Heeley for over 25 years and looks set to stay around for a few more with its new look and name. The Incredible Nutshell is moving forward providing what customers, old and new, want in an interesting environment with exciting products.
