Loyal Sheffield United supporter and volunteer at St Wilfrid’s Centre, Kate Chapman, recently made the ultimate sacrifice in order to support the Centre which helps the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield. Kate donned Sheffield Wednesday colours and was sponsored by friends and colleagues in an effort to raise money for a new Residential project.
Kate was persuaded to wear blue and white only when her friends promised to give money to the Centre’s new appeal. The loyal ‘Blade’ spent her shift at St Wilfrid’s welcoming clients at the door where she was met with shocked faces, confused looks and all the banter that comes with it.
Kate and friends also ran and cycled round Rother Valley on Kate’s 40th Birthday to help raise the final total of £500.
Kevin Bradley Director of St Wilfrid’s (pictured on the right) commented ‘Kate does a wonderful job for us and is a very caring person. Efforts like this will I am sure help us to achieve our dream of building the Residential’.
