St Wilfs July-page-0Join us for an enjoyable evening in a very good cause.

On Thursday 4 July Carfield Community choir are hosting an evening of singing to raise money for the St Wilfred’s Residential Project.  The choir will be joined by other local musical talent (which Meersbrook is particularly blessed with) to provide music and songs from around the world and some well-known popular songs too.  There will be opportunities to join in if you like to sing too. The event had to be cancelled in April because of the snow.

St Wilfred’s Day Centre, on Queens Road has been providing services for homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded people for 22 years and is battling to raise £1.8m for a residential unit to house 50.  The number of declared homeless in Sheffield rose by 38% in 2011, many of whom have a mental health issue so we need to support this local charity in the important work it does.

The event is at the Church of the Nazarene, Fitzroy Road, Heeley Green and the performance starts at 7.30 (Children free). Tickets are £5 to include a hot or soft drink. Delicious home-made cakes will also be on sale.
