Next weekend sees the return of the hugely popular Medieval event at Bishops House!
A craft fair with a difference! Craft stalls for those unusual Christmas gifts, including Pommiers pottery, Handmade Things (leather and wood workers), Jenna Fisher silver jewellery maker, Plainweave (replica medieval textiles), Runesmith (Celtic and Viking style jewellery), Melanie Crafts (soft toys, gemstone jewellery, Tudor hats and craft kits), Wild Brambles (cakes, sauces, gluten free goodies), House of Freya (hand made cloaks, hand drawn art pendants and rare artefacts)
Ruth Gilbert is a weaver and textile historian. She makes cloth and small items, including researching and weaving replicas of archaeological finds. She will be selling her modern hand woven goods as well as small textile equipment for medieval re-enactors. Ruth will be wearing costume and will spin with distaff and spindle – find her on Facebook (Ruth Gilbert, Marsden) where you can see more pictures of her work
Runesmith began by twisting bronze wire into cloak pins at a Viking re-enactment in 1985, and ended with his own range of designer jewellery along with a stall full of dragons and fairies and magical chalices.
Here you can have your name stamped in Runes or Elvish on a bronze orsilver bracelet, commission authentic historical jewellery or ironwork, or enjoy completely inauthentic fantasy. See more at www.runesmith.co.uk
