Contemporary folk quartet 4Square will be appearing at the Heeley Institute on Saturday, November 23rd as part of the Big Boulder Rolls On.

Formed outside Rochdale in 2006, 4Square put themselves on the wider contemporary folk map with a now legendary performance at the Cropredy Convention in 2009, which resulted in the band selling out their debut album 20:20 Manchester.

Nicola Lyons, Jim Molyneux, Daniel Day and James Meadows are currently embarking on a national tour that will the band bringing their modern take on traditional roots, blues and folk themes and traditions to London, Manchester and York.

Support will be provided by Moore, Moss Rutter, winners of the Young Folk Award at the BBc Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2011, the same year the band released their debut self-titled album to widespread acclaim and filmed a live set for SkyArts.

All proceeds will be going towards the staging of the Big Boulder Live Music and Arts Festival, which will be taking place at the Millennium Park in the September 2014.
