The Heeley Institute will be hosting the UK premiere of Robert Fantinatto’s documentary ‘I Dream of Wires’ on Saturday, 21st June.
Canadian director Fantinatto explores the role of the modular synthesizer in the evolution of electronic music, using interviews with pioneering artists Trent Reznor, Carl Craig and Gary Numan alongside contributions on the re-emergence of the machine in contemporary electronica from Chris Clark, James Holden and Factory Floor.
From Cabaret Voltaire to the Yorkshire Bleeps and Bass at Crazy Daisy, via legendary record label Warp, the city of Sheffield has played an instrumental role in turning an esoteric curiosity into a thriving subculture, making it the perfect location for the Sensoria Teaser premiere.
Tickets cost £5 or £3 for concessions, which includes a gin & tonic or soft drink, with admission for over 18s only. Doors open at 7:30pm, the film begins at 8pm.
