IT'S HAPPENING IN HEELEY!

Ashley Hutchings (with Blair Dunlop) @ Heeley Institute – 14th Nov, 7.30pm

Folk legend Ashley Hutchings, founder member of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and the Albion  Band will be performing with his son Blair Dunlop at the Heeley Institute on Friday, November 14th, as part of the Talking Gigs series of concerts.

Winner of the ‘Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’ award at the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Fairport Convention’s Liege & Leaf, Hutchings has overseen film, theatre and television projects alongside his work as an arranger, band leader and producer.

His son Blair, who played the young Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake, has assumed control of the Albion Band and released two EPs and a debut full-length album entitled ‘Blight and Blossom’.  He won the Horizon Award at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Launched at the Lantern Theatre in Nether Edge earlier this year, Talking Gigs promotes roots music from around the world, combing a more traditional performance with poetry, anecdotes and audience Q+A. Tickets available from  Ticket Source https://www.facebook.com/TalkingGigs
