A few tickets are still available for two upcoming gigs at the Heeley Institute, Chris Wood on Saturday 7th March and Stefan Grossman on Friday 10th April.
Widely regarded as one of the leading English singer/songwriters of his generation, Chris has twice been named BBC Radio 2’s Folk Singer of the Year and twice been awarded BBC Radio 2’s Original Song of the year.
He is also an acclaimed interpreter of traditional music from the UK and Europe, and has collaborated with Hugh Lupton, Andy Cutting and Martin Carthy.
Acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Stefan Grossman has worked with Bert Jansch, Eric Clapton and Janis Joplin on a musical odyssey across Europe and America, and is credited as releasing the very first guitar instructional LPs.
He is also the founder of Kicking Mule records, which has released recordings and concert footage of old blues and country artists including Big Bill Broonzy, Lightnin’ Hopkins and Rev. Gary Davis, influencing a whole generation of younger guitarists.
Both artists are appearing as part of the Big Boulder series of intimate roots music performances taking place in Heeley, culminating in the 2015 Big Boulder Music and Arts Festival, taking place in the Heeley Park this summer.
