Local Learning Mentor from Heeley, Lucy Pincott shed 4st 7lbs and moved 200 miles from Bexley London, whilst still enjoying her favourite packet of crisps every day.
“I had been overweight since my early teens but my weight got really out of control when I got my flat. The more weight I gained the more I became isolated from friends and family.
“I didn’t like to get dressed up and go out, putting on pretty outfits and make up just made me feel like I was dressing up a tank, I couldn’t hide how big I had become. So instead i stayed home gorging on take-always and crisps.’
“The breaking point for me was getting told at work ‘I was a fatty’ it was the wake-up call I needed to realise just how big I was. Having seen a poster in my local area I looked up slimming world groups online, roped my mum in and joined that week”
“I felt nervous as I walked in but was greeted by loads of warm, friendly welcoming people, the consultant understood how I was feeling and I felt confident I was in the right place. Everything was completely confidential including my weight and I wasn’t judged at all”
Lucy loved her new Slimming World group and went religiously staying to group every week and discovering just how flexible and enjoyable losing weight through Food Optimising can be. ‘I loved being able to eat huge bowls of spaghetti bolognese and platefuls of Slimming World chips but I couldn’t believe it when I’d lost my first stone within a month!’
“Losing 4stone 7lbs has given me the confidence to move 200 miles from home, a new house, new career and a new body, and most of all I love I can still eat crisps. I’m living a whole new life thanks to Slimming World.”
Lucy is now opening her very own slimming world group to help others in her situation. The new group meets at 7.30pm on a Monday night at Queens Road Social Club, Heeley. The first meeting is on the 27th April and anyone who wants to lose a lot – or a little weight is welcome. She particularly wants to meet people who, like her, have had difficulty losing weight before.
