Next week marks the launch of ‘Go ON Sheffield’, an exciting local initiative to encourage first timers to experience the Internet. The campaign will run from 24th October until to 6th November. It is being organised by UK online centres and Heeley Development Trust and is backed by Sheffield City Council and Sheffield-based broadband company, Plusnet. The campaign has been designed to give the 95,000 people who are currently not online in this City the opportunity to experience both the social and practical benefits of the Internet for the very first time. There are more than 60 FREE drop- in events scheduled during the week with friendly staff and volunteers at each session to help people learn more about computers and the internet.
