Earlier this year, a group of 7 local women, who met at an English class at Heeley City Farm, attended an International Women’s Day event at the WEA’s Learning Centre in Attercliffe.

It was a great day out, with the chance to attend workshops and listen to the experiences of women from around the world. Some of the topics up for discussion were how women in other countries make their voice heard, women and faith and how to use the internet for campaigning.  There was a free lunch with food from around the world and a chance to chat with women from other cultures. Everyone left with a feeling that we all had a lot in common!
