Cycle Sheffield have been campaigning for a cycle friendly Sheffield for more than 20 years, promoting reduced traffic noise, improved air quality and increased freedom for more children to play outside; creating conditions in which riding a bike is a realistic choice for everyone, regardless of age or ability.
They have organised a mass ride around Sheffield on Saturday, 11th June, setting off from Devonshire Green on a fun and friendly 6km journey along Ecclesall Road before finishing back up in the city centre, with volunteer marshals on hand to ensure the group stays together and that the pace is suitable for even the youngest of riders.
The group hope that the Big Ride will see even more cyclists than the 450 that got involved last year, so are offering a friendly welcome to people of all ages and abilities. Entrance to the 2016 event, which leaves Devonshire Green at 11am, is free to all.
